The choice of a certification should be well-considered. After all, it is your money and time that you are investing.
Does a project management certificate make sense for students?
It depends,
1. whether it is a recognized certificate
2. how soon you plan to enter the workforce
3. how high the financial and time expenditure is.
1. There are several internationally recognized project management certificates. Let´s take a look at SAFe by now.

Students who successfully complete a Certificate in Project Management are prepared for work in a variety of positions around the globe and have also earned valuable life skills that can be put into practice across a wide variety of global sectors. Certificate holders are also often able to command more money than those without certificates, and are often hired over non-certificate holders as well.
Project management skills are highly desirable in today’s global workforce, and those who successfully earn a Certificate in Project Management are prepared to serve as project managers in virtually any industry worldwide. Many go on to find work in finance, engineering, administration, information technology, manufacturing, government or real estate, among other areas.
If a rewarding career as a project manager sounds like something you’d like to learn more about, Once you apply for a job, certification may be worthwhile. But note that you have to renew the certification annually by paying a fee. Don´t spend money too early…
3. the financial and time expenditure…
Most opt for the SAFe SA – SAFe Agilist certificate, which is a good basic training.
- The training including the certification for students will be at 290,00 € incl. VAT.
- It takes 2 days to complete the training.
- First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake attempt costs $50.
- 100% of all participants in the SAFe courses of the Institute for Strategy and Applied Project Management (ISAPM) passed the first attempt.
Important:
Annual recertification currently costs at least $100, but could be up to $275.
